Named Bianconi, the Italian eatery will launch late this year at 1500 Brickell Avenue, in a historic French chateau owned by Mast Capital.
Camilo Miguel Jr., Mast Capital‘s founder and CEO, told TRD that he wanted to bring a top restaurant to the site. He bought the property in August 2013 for $2.575 million, and got it rezoned for retail and commercial uses. He also upgraded the electrical and air conditioning and completed other renovations.
Bianconi’s Miami location will add to Diana and Fabrizio Bianconi’s portfolio of restaurant concepts, which include Via Veneta and Bianconi in Los Angeles and L’Isola and L’Isoletta in St. Barts. Designed by Diana Bianconi, the Miami space will feature an outdoor garden. The menu will include homemade pastas, steaks and seafood.

The Brickell area has seen several new restaurants open in recent months, including Quinto la Huella, the first U.S. outpost of the famed Uruguayan beachfront eatery Parador La Huella, which opened in May at Brickell City Centre’s East, Miami hotel.
Waney’s next venture in Miami is La Petite Maison at 1300 Brickell Bay Drive. Miami will be the first U.S. location for the French Provençal restaurant, which is expected to open this year.
