The epicenter of Miami’s Coconut Grove shopping district, CocoWalk, announced the opening of new dining and retail concepts, Miami’s Community News reported.
After nearly a year of waiting, its extensive renovation is finally complete. The property now boasts 150,000 square feet of premier retail space that is home to major local, national and international restaurants and retail brands.
What are the new restaurants?
Following the opening of the highly anticipated modern American restaurant Botanico Gin & Cookhouse in November, CocoWalk also welcomed Duck N’ Sum, a modern Asian restaurant serving classic flavors and fan favorites like steamed bao buns and garlic noodles.
Then in December, Sushi Garage presented its unique dining experience inspired by classic Japanese flavors created by Executive Chef Sunny Oh.
CocoWalk will feature world-class cinema
In addition to exciting new dining concepts, the world-class Cinépolis movie theater makes its highly anticipated debut with the opening of a new movie theater this winter, marking the return of the neighborhood’s only movie theater.
David Grutman’s Groot Hospitality will open The Key Club at CocoWalk. Ariete Hospitality Group, the culinary creators behind some of Coconut Grove’s most popular restaurants including Ariete, Nave and Chug’s, will also open a new restaurant on the property this year.
Narbona Natural Foods & Farm Market will open in spring 2022. The 8,253-square-foot specialty market will feature a butcher shop, fresh pastas and a bakery along with a selection of gourmet cheeses, craft beers, wines and coffees, all produced in their farms in South America. This will become the second Narbonne location to open in South Florida.
The property is managed by a group of owners consisting of Federal Realty Investment Trust, The Comras Company and Grass River Property.
“Our goal with the newly renovated CocoWalk is to reinvigorate the lifestyle destination and offer a more curated experience to those who live, work and play in Coconut Grove, ” Michael Comras, CEO and President of The Comras Company told Miami’s CommunityNews. “The return of Cinepolis, the best stores now open and the upcoming debut of our restaurant by several of Miami’s top hotel groups will further enhance the lifestyle, dining and shopping experience offered by the new CocoWalk.”
The new retailers and restaurants join an already impressive and extensive lineup of select national, regional and local concepts currently open on property, including: PLANTA Queen, Mister 01 Extraordinary Pizza, Sweetgreen and Salt & Straw serving delicious food and cocktails in CocoWalk.
With this major new redevelopment, CocoWalk will return to its former position as the geographic and commercial centerpiece of the Grove.
