Omakai, a fine casual, high-quality sushi concept, is expanding its business to Miami’s Coconut Grove on May 17.
Launched in November 2019 by brothers Diego and Pedro Quijada, along with Nicolas Sayavedra and chef Aaron Pate, there are already locations in Miami’s Wynwood and Aventura.
“One of the key drivers behind our continued growth and expansion is the community’s steadfast support and genuine love for our concept,” Diego Quijada said. “We look forward to opening our doors to new customers.”
The menu features signature “Homeakase” boxes, which provide patrons the option to enjoy Omakai’s offerings in sleek packaging from the comfort of home.
The Omakai team is embracing an uptick in the restaurant scene in Coconut Grove. The new location, at 3304 Mary St., is 2,182 square feet and will accommodate 65 patrons. Located at Terra Group’s headquarters building, the lease on the space was brokered by Sam Noddle of Comras Co.
Omakai sushi was originally slated to open the location in the first quarter of 2022.
