The stores opened at 2300 N.W. Second Ave., the site of a sewing machine company before Comras Co. began renovations of the 12,000-square-foot space in early 2012.
“The whole building was completely redone,” said Irma Figueroa, Comras’ director of retail leasing and sales. “Being located in the heart of the Wynwood Café District, just next to Panther, it was especially important to us to achieve a great co-tenancy that will go to enhance the soul of the neighborhood.”
Figueroa said the building’s design was made to enhance the neighborhood’s “cool factor” with an open-door façade, redone roof, new windows and added landscaping.
The property’s retailers include Coyo Taco, a restaurant lounge; Fantini Mosaici, a high-end flooring showroom; Freshii, a fast-casual concept restaurant; Sean Havas Gallery, an art gallery featuring underwater photography; Rug Evolution, a high-end showroom; and a American restaurant that’s yet to be named.
