Hyatt Hotels Corp. (NYSE: H) has announced the official opening of Andaz Miami Beach on May 5, marking the debut of the Andaz brand in Florida.
The Mid-Beach property, located at 4041 Collins Ave. and formerly known as The Confidante, underwent a significant renovation to blend Mediterranean-inspired design with Miami’s vibrant atmosphere.
Equipped with 287 rooms, the hotel features two heated outdoor pools, private cabanas, a spa, a beach club, and three dining concepts by José Andrés Group.
Andaz Miami Beach is owned by Sunstone Hotel Investors and is the first opening in Florida since the formation of the Hyatt Lifestyle Group.

Burlington Stores

Burlington Stores will open a new 33,000-square-foot location in Davie at 1801 S. University Drive on May 23. The store is part of the Town and Country shopping center and marks the retailer’s 121st location in Florida. Burlington is headquartered in New Jersey and operates more than 1,100 locations nationwide.
Aldi

Aldi will open its first Boynton Beach location on May 15 at 8855 Boynton Beach Blvd., Suite 310, in the Cobblestone Commons shopping plaza. The store will feature departments such as fresh produce, organic meats, sustainable seafood and Aldi-branded products, along with weekly limited-time items known as AldiFinds. Shoppers will also have access to curbside pickup and grocery delivery services.
Raising Cane’s

Raising Cane’s will host a grand opening for its Tamarac location at 5600 N. University Drive on May 13. The Louisiana-based fast-food brand specializes in chicken fingers and other handheld foods.
Publix

Publix opened a new 54,964-square-foot store on May 8 at 9900 Alternate A1A in the Promenade Shopping Plaza in Palm Beach Gardens. The location features a full-service deli, bakery and a pharmacy with wellness products. A seating area has also been installed for customers.
Akira

Fashion retailer Akira signed a lease for the former Forever 21 space at 701 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach on May 7, according to Comras Company, a Miami Beach–based commercial real estate brokerage. The property spans 13,000 square feet. Akira is owned by Eric Hsueh, Erikka Wang, Sarah Hughes and Gordon Liao. The lease was brokered by Comras Co. CEO Michael Comras.
Humanaut Health

On May 7, 2025, Humanaut Health announced it will open a wellness and longevity clinic in Palm Beach Gardens this summer. The 3,700-square-foot facility will be located at 11701 Lake Victoria Gardens Ave., Suite 3201, and is owned by David Peterson, Jon Ortlieb, Nicole Doran and Michael Doran. It will be the Texas-based company’s first Florida location and will offer personalized health assessments, diagnostics and wellness treatments.
Ah-Beetz New Haven Pizza
Ah-Beetz New Haven Pizza opened its flagship Delray Beach location on May 6 at 15200 Jog Road in the Atlantic Plaza Shoppes. The 3,300-square-foot restaurant includes indoor and patio seating, a takeout window, and an expanded menu of New Haven–style pizza and other Italian-inspired offerings. The shop is owned by Nicholas Joseph Laudano, who founded the brand and leads its ongoing national expansion.
Reforming Pilates at One Tribe

Reforming Pilates will open a dedicated pre- and postnatal reformer Pilates studio on May 15 at One Tribe, located in Miami at 318 N.W. 23rd St. The 1,400-square-foot space was founded by Genevieve Ross and is designed specifically for expecting and new mothers. It will offer daily group classes led by certified instructors, including options that allow participants to bring their infants.
Sushi Garage

Sushi Garage is set to open a new location at The Standard Residences, Midtown Miami, in the third quarter of 2025. The restaurant will occupy a ground-floor space at 3100 N.E. 1st Ave. and is owned by the Juvia Group, founded by Jonas and Alexandra Millán. The design is by Clavel Arquitectos, with the upcoming restaurant joining other food and beverage venues in the residential development.
Flanigan’s

Flanigan’s Enterprises announced plans to open a new Miami-Dade location at 650 Homestead Blvd., the former site of Homestead City Hall, which spans 11,760 square feet. The company filed a proposal to open an 8,500-square-foot restaurant with a 3,200-square-foot retail space. The project is owned by Flanigan’s and will feature approximately 120 surface parking spaces and 8,800 square feet of open space. Spokespeople for the South Florida restaurant say the locations is expected to open in “a couple of years.”
